The Conjuring: Last Rites

Look, let me get this out of the way right off the bat – I love The Conjuring movies. I do. I love the entire franchise. I’ve seen all (okay well there is kinda sorta one that I have yet to see, by this same director). But the ones I’ve seen – Conjuring, Nun, Annabelle – I love them. They’re not high art, but they’re not B-movie schlock either.

They’re just very good at knowing what they are and delivering consistent scares. And I love that they’re always somewhat based on actual events. I hesitate to say “true story” because who knows if the actual events are actually real.

I’ll tell you one thing that is real – the fictional Warrens love story. A tale as old as time…
